Quarterly Survey Respondent Breakdown

Q1 2025 Survey Highlights

  1. The optimism level in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East & North Africa declined sharply in Q1 2025, dropping to 60.5% from 79.5% in Q4 2024. While South Asia maintained its high optimism levels, other subregions experienced significant decreases.
  2. In Q1 2025, 45.8% of respondents reported an increase in aircraft utilization, while 22.2% observed a decline. Meanwhile, 32.0% indicated that their aircraft utilization levels remained stable.
  3. Purchase intentions also declined compared to the previous quarter. Only 51.1% of respondents expressed intentions to purchase aircraft within the next 12 months. Of these, 32.2% planned to buy pre-owned aircraft, while 18.9% preferred new aircraft.
  4. When assessing market conditions, 23.8% of respondents perceived it as a seller’s market, while 28.6% viewed it as a buyer’s market. An additional 28.6% believed the market for pre-owned aircraft was relatively balanced, a notable decrease from 42.3% in the previous quarter.
  5. The intention to charter aircraft has grown significantly, with 58.1% of respondents planning to charter aircraft within the next three months—an increase from 44.4% in the previous quarter.

In Asian Sky Group’s Q1 2025 survey on the industry’s mood and intentions, we received more than 200 responses from business aviation professionals.

  1. Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia (32.3%)
  2. Greater China, mainly covering mainland China and Hong Kong SAR (16.5%)
  3. Oceania (9.8%)
  4. South Asia (7.5%)
  5. Middle East and North Africa (3.8%)

Respondents comprised various industry segments: 37.6% were aircraft operators and management companies, 32.3% represented service providers, and 22.6% were involved in aircraft sales or charter brokerage.
